Packaging Artwork revealed for Joe Amaro’s Manta Raider (UPDATED with Pricing Info)

UPDATE 8/8/2012:

From Joe-

The price for the Manta Raider will be $50.00 and will be limited to one per person.  I am thinking about pre-selling them to help avoid any headaches at the con. Anything that does not sell during the pre-sell period will be at the con for sale.

This is for the Manta Raiders at Power Con only. I will not be shipping any out at this time. That will be another run and thier WILL BE another run later for fans who could not attend Power Con.

To be clear if you pre-order you will have to pick them up at Rudy’s booth. Which is better because while there you can him sign it! But I will not do this until I have them done and ready, so maybe by early to mid September.
I will keep updating you as I have information, especially when I have the ordering information.

ORIGINAL POST: Joe Amaro has revealed the updated artwork by Rudy Obrero that will be used for the packaging of the upcoming Manta Raider accessory!

Joe hopes to have details on the sale The Manta Raider very soon, but the first batch is planned to be sold at Power-Con next month! I’ll be sure to keep you all updated with the details as they become available!

Note: The Manta Raider is not associated with MOTU or Mattel. It’s a limited edition hand made piece of art and not a toy.

MattyCollector Subscriptions are a GO! And Geldor is the MOTUC Fans Choice Winner!

It’s official! DC Club Inifnite Earths and MOTU  Club Eternia met their goals for subscriptions and are going forward for 2013!

It appears DC squeaked by, which I was not at all expecting. But I’m very happy for the DC collectors out thee! MOTU Classics on the other hand ended up going above and beyond, going 35% beyond what was needed! Scott seems to imply that this boost bodes well for going forward in 2014 as well.

It was also announced that the winner of the Fan Poll for MOTU Classics was Geldor. Coming in second right behind him was Illumina. While I voted for Illumina, I’m happy with Geldor. It’s cool to get some mini comic representation in the line. Plus, I had a feeling he’d be the winner. He’s a huge fan favorite among the German fan base, and those German MOTU fans know how to get the job done! 🙂

I should add that it was very nice of Scott to give me a shout out in this video!

So, we’re getting at least another year of both DCUC and MOTUC! Pretty exciting stuff for those of us who were hoping for more toys.

Pop Culture Shock to make He-Man statue – and YOU get to choose the style!

Looks like we’ve got more merchandising happening for the 30th anniversary of Masters of the Unvierse!

Pop Culture Shock, the company most well known right now for their ThunderCats statues, looks to be producing a new He-Man statue! The cool part is that they are allowing the fans to vote on the style of the statue!

The above image has four different versions of He-Man, the first being a fully Filmation rendition and the fourth being what they call a “realistic” rendition, with the two in between being a combination of the two.

Personally, I voted for B. I would also be happy if A was the winning choice. I’d love to see a Filmation styled He-Man in statue form!

You can vote right now over at Pop Culture Shock’s Facebook page!

Making the Mosquitor Mask – An Interview with Glen Coleman

You may recall the challenge made to me by Scott Neitlich prior to this year’s San Diego Comic Con.  And if you were at the show or saw pictures from it, then you know I was able to meet that challenge.

But I never would have been able to if it weren’t for the very talented Glen Coleman contacting me and offering to help me out by building an amazing Mosquitor mask! Many of you have contacted me and asked me how the mask was made, and I kept promising that once SDCC was all wrapped up, I would shine the spotlight on the man behind the making of that mask.

So, here we are. It’s time to talk to Glen Coleman! Click on through to learn how he did it, complete with images and video of the actual mask making process, and even grab the specs so you can try yourself!
