From the Mattel show room, Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich shows off the brand new MOTU Classics Castle Grayskull playset at the 2013 NY International Toy Fair!
Recently on Facebook, Cornboy of Four Horsemen Design posted that they had just finished the initial sculpt of the Castle Grayskull playset for the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line, and was hoping Mattel would be able to show it off at Toy Fair. Well, it looks like Mattel will indeed be making the big reveal, and to tease us they have been posting very small, close-up shots of the Castle.
For those of you who still purchase MOTUC with the same passion with which you started, you don’t need to read any further.
But if you’re a fan who has cut back on your MOTUC purchases, or if you have ceased purchasing MOTUC altogether, Mattel’s own Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich wants to know why.
He-Man.org has set-up an official poll with various options to find out your top reason for slowing or ceasing your MOTUC purchases. Please click here to vote today! This poll will run until 11:59pm EST on Friday, February 1st. Make your voices heard! Thank you for participating!
Filmation representation in the Classics liner grows with the addition of Fang Man!
Fang Man is one of Skeletor’s minions who only appeared in the original Masters of the Universe cartoon series, and has never received an action figure until now!
Join me for an early look at this upcoming figure from Mattel!
Update: The contest has ended! Congratulations to supergonzo1980! Thanks to everyone for taking the time to enter, and stay tuned for more toy giveaways comign soon!

Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich has posted a new video preview to show off the packaging for Mattel’s upcoming Watchmen toy line, as well as a look for the transformation sequence for the MOTU Classics Snake Face!
That Watchmen packaging is pretty snazzy! I’m getting pretty excited to check those figures out!
So by now you have probably seen this image pop up online. This was taken at a Wal-Mart in California that apparently stocked an entire endcap full of MOTU classics Roboto and Gygor action figure. This of course created quite the buzz, since MOTUC is an online-only line. Even more odd is the fact that Wal-Mart is selling these for much cheaper than they were on Matty – $24.97 for Gygor and $16.97 for Roboto.
It seems to be an isolated incident, as this is the only Wal-Mart store that they have shown up in. Of course, a lot of questions have been raised. Why does Wal-Mart have them? And how are they selling figures that were “sold out” on Matty? That question especially burns for Roboto, a figure many folks missed out on originally.
I contacted Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich as soon as this photo surfaced to ask about it. After some investigation, Scott has finally commented publicly.
My buddy Phill Naval was brave enough to take apart the armor on his new Masters of the Universe Classics Mosquitor figure to see just how the blood chamber was handled!
Turns out the translucent red piece of plastic actually has the very small bubbles sculpted on the inner side! I had mentioned in my video that I wasn’t sure if these were actual air bubbles, and thus if they would vary from figure to figure. This seems to prove that they should be identical on each figure. After seeing this, I will say that I sort of wish there were a few more bubbles sculpted on.
Aside from this, get a load of that detailed sculpt and paint job on the actual chest that’s below the red plate! Wow! That looks quite disgusting…I LOVE it! It’s sort of a shame that all of that detail is lost under the red plate.
Click through for a few more pictures. VERY special thanks to Phill for doing what I wasn’t brave enough to do, and send pictures for everyone to see!
