MOTU Classics Mosquitor Teaser #5

ToyGuru responded to my costume teaser video I posted this morning by sending me a 5th tiny teaser image for the upcoming Masters of the Universe Mosquitor figure! He really does know how to torture me…
This image appears to be a shot of the figure from the side. This seems to confirm that our assumptions about him having the extra insect appendages are correct, as it looks like that’s what we have stuck to his back there. You can also see what may be a piece of his shoulder pad, which seems to be a light brown like the gloved hand we already saw.
I can imagine this will be the last teaser image that is sent, as the entire figure will finally be revealed on Friday July 13th and the Mattypalooza panel at SDCC! I hope anyone who is going understands that I absolutely will not be able to hold in my excitement when that reveal happens. 🙂

The Round-Up: Warlords and Warriors, Figma Samus Delayed, T-Shirts

Welcome to the weekly Round-Up, giving you some quick updates and things you should check out!
- The website for Warlords and Warriors just launched. If you are unfamiliar with that name, Warlords and Warriors is a new retro-styled 5.75″ fantasy figure line coming from the folks at ZoloWorld. Think classic MOTU, Remco, etc. I interviewed Mike Zolotorow last year at Power-Con when he was in the early stages of this line. It’s getting closer to launch, and registering at the site gives you first crack at pre-orders when the become available.
- I’ve been asked this a lot, so to make things clear: I have not received Snake Man-at-Arms or the Griffin from Mattel for review. Mattel notified me last week that they themselves had not received samples for these items yet, so they would be late in sending them. Of course, now the figures have gone on sale and many folks already have these items in hand. My subscription figures are set to be delivered on the 28th (ugh…Newgistics.) When they arrive, I will absolutely rip them open and review them.
- I received a notice this morning that the Figma Samus figure I currently have on pre-order has been delayed. The release date is now set for late July. So if any of you out there have this figure pre-ordered as well, be sure to adjust your budget accordingly.
- I have a T-Shirt coming! Yep, the first ever official Pixel Dan T-Shirt. Is that something you guys will actually care about? I guess we’ll find out! It will be sold through the He-Man.org T-Shirt store on Printfection. My good buddy Eamon O’Donoghue designed it. I hope to have it up for order before SDCC. I’d like to see some folks wearing my shirt at the Con, if possible.

ToyGuru shows off MOTUC Snake Man-at-Arms and Griffin

Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich informed me the other day that Mattel has not yet received PR samples of Snake Man-at-Arms and the Griffin, both of which go on sale this Friday. Since Mattel did not receive them, they of course could not send anything out for review before the sale.
In an effort to make sure fans still got a chance to see the figures before they go on sale, Scott did put together this quick video where he shows off the early figures they have at the Mattel offices.

MOTU Classics Mosquitor Sneak Peek #4

The torture continues!
Mattel just sent along the 4th image teaser for the upcoming Masters of the Universe Classics Mosquitor figure!
This is a pretty good one, showing off the figure’s left arm! We can see Mosquitor’s short, brown gloves. Also, it looks like he’s utilizing the “monster” forearms as seen on figures like Whiplash and Kobra Khan. That’s an interesting and clever way to accomplish his forearms without a newly tooled piece. The vintage figure have similar “fins” on his forearms, just not quite the same as this.
I’m getting more and more excited to see the final figure!
