Well, I was wrong when I said that the 5th teaser would be the last one before SDCC. I just opened my mailbox to find an e-mail from ToyGuru with the phrase “You have unleashed more power than you can possibly comprehend…” And attached to that e-mail was this photo:
Ack! Spector killed Mosquitor!
I cracked up when I saw this picture. Very clever way to hide his head and chest. But this is still the most revealing picture of Mosquitor so far! We can practically see his entire body! There are small pieces of his chest poking out as well. It appears to be a completely new buck! There doesn’t seem to be any torso articulation, so there very well may actually be liquid in there! Or, maybe it’s just an armor piece with interchangeable plates like Battle Armor He-Man. I can’t quite tell, but I can say I am more excited than ever!
Exclusive to Toys R Us stores comes this incredibly cool variant of NECA’s RoboCop!
Join me for a look at this homage to the classic 1989 Kenner Nightfighter RoboCop! I take a look at this new figure in detail, as well as compare both the figure and packaging tot he classic Kenner figure!
Just a quick update to let everyone know that OMFG! Series 2 is now available on Kickstarter! With a simple donation, Series 2 can be yours! The figures are available in flesh color and an exclusive Kickstarter black color, depending on your donation amount.
If you are unfamiliar with OMFG! (which stands for Outlandish Mini Figure Guyrs, btw), then check out my video on series 1. If you are a fan of classic mini figures such as M.U.S.C.L.E., then you’re sure to love these guys. Series 2 looks to have some incredible designs as well! Puke Knight is my favorite, for sure.
From the 1989 RoboCop and the Ultra Police toy line from Kenner comes one of the coolest and most popular variants from the line!
Join me for a look at the cap firing, glow in the dark Nightfighter RoboCop figure! Of course, there is a reason for this particular figure getting a review, so stay tuned for another review tomorrow!
ToyGuru responded to my costume teaser video I posted this morning by sending me a 5th tiny teaser image for the upcoming Masters of the Universe Mosquitor figure! He really does know how to torture me…
This image appears to be a shot of the figure from the side. This seems to confirm that our assumptions about him having the extra insect appendages are correct, as it looks like that’s what we have stuck to his back there. You can also see what may be a piece of his shoulder pad, which seems to be a light brown like the gloved hand we already saw.
I can imagine this will be the last teaser image that is sent, as the entire figure will finally be revealed on Friday July 13th and the Mattypalooza panel at SDCC! I hope anyone who is going understands that I absolutely will not be able to hold in my excitement when that reveal happens. 🙂
San Diego Comic Con is very quickly approaching! With that, as always, comes a slew of limited addition, pricey, must-have-because-we-can’t-resist exclusive toys! So naturally, that’s the main focus of this week’s Round-Up.
In case you missed the big news last week, Hasbro officially announced the return of Jem and the Holograms at this year’s SDCC! Partnering with Integrity Toys, Hasbro is kicking the line off with a high-end collectible doll of Hollywood Jem! I was pretty excited about this at first, but then I saw the Truly Outrageous price tag of $125! Ouch! Still, I’m happy for the die-hard Jem fans out there.
Not exclusives, but still worth mentioning. Lou Scheimer, founder of Filmation, is making his last convention appearance with a panel at SDCC! I’m really bummed I’m going to miss this, as my flight gets in at the same time this panel starts. Also worth noting, Toy Masters, the documentary about the creation of Mattel’s Masters of the Universe toy line, is screening at SDCC as well. However, I’m going to miss this one as well, as the screening takes place during the He-Man.org Power Party. Unfortunate scheduling, there.
Speaking of Matty, the MattyPalooza panel is Friday the 13th at noon EST. Mattel will be revealing new figures for next year, including MOTUC Mosquitor! On top of that, they are introducing a brand new subscription line for next year. Any guesses on what it might be? My money is on Back to the Future…but that’s just a guess.
That wraps it up for now! i’m sure there will be more SDCC tidbits as we get closer to the show. If so, I’ll post them here! Stay tuned!
It’s that time again! Let’s open some toys! Join Pixel Dan and Stina as they rip open another large batch of blind bagged mini figures! It’s madness!!
In today’s episode, we’re opening up:

A very special thanks to Petteri H. for the Panini figure, and my awesome Mom and Dad for everything else!
