Bandai Japan had a terrific display set-up for their line of Mega Man X D-Arts figures. Notable in this display were figures of the villain Sigma, as well as a large mech suit for Mega Man to ride in!
There was no information posted on these two items, so I spoke with a rep at the Bandai Japan booth.
He explained that as of right now, both items are just prototypes. They are working on licensing for these, so they do hope to actually release them. But for now, they need to hear the fan response on these two items.
So, what do you think? Do you want a Sigma or Mech Suit for your D-Arts Mega Man X figures? If so, spread the word and make it heard!

At the beginning of SDCC, I posted a gallery showing the very cool Major Matt Mason display at the Mattel booth. I had questioned if this was a hint to the new secret toy line Matty was about to announce. Of course, the secret line ended up being a line of action figures based on The Watchmen. So I went back to Mattel to ask about the display.
After talking to Scott “ToyGuru” Neitlich, I found out that this display was really nothing more than a way to pay homage to one of Mattel’s classic toy lines. Scott said they had some extra room, so he wanted to shine the spotlight on a toy line that is one of Mattel’s most famous vintage figure lines.
He did also mention that he was curious to see what the response would be, and see if it gets anyone talking. So who knows, if this causes enough buzz perhaps we may see Mattel’s Man in Space make a comeback!

Mattel had the new Back to the Future II Hoverboard prop replica on display at SDCC. Along with that was also the final 6″ scale Hoverboard that will come exclusively to those who pre-ordered the prop version.
Mattel was also displaying the features of the prop, so stay tuned as I’ll have a video of that up soon!
Also worth noting, Mattel as of yet does not have anything to announce as far as more Back to the Future goes. It doesn’t appear there has been any movement on the 6″ figure line.
