Holy crap, you guys get better and better with every pod cast and the first one was awesome. I agree, some superhero movies need to be treated like Bond films, new guy and new villain, solo story. I was skeptical about The Amazing Spider-man as well, but I looked at it kinda like this, the raimi movies were more like the 90's animated series and the Garfield one(s) are the ultimate universe. Like Jonathan, I really liked it, but man, couldn't they leave Uncle Ben alive till at least the second one for once. Hearing his phone message always kills me. I was really happy that I'm not the only one excited the Affleck is Batman. I am a huge Batman fan and everyone I know has called me about it asking me what I think. After watching The Town is when I was sold more than before. And again, Daredevil is one of the most underrated comic book films. Affleck was awesome as DD. Can't wait for the next pod cast.

It's like WB/DC has become that character in the horror movie who we the audience are screaming at "Don't go in there! What are you stupid?! He has an axe and he's right behind you!!!!" …………

I loved Gisele and Han's characters and relationship in F&F despite their tragic ends, but not the right casting for WW – shoulda went with someone more like Lucy Lawless or perhaps even Elizabeth Berkley, or …… Katy Perry, although I'm not sure about her acting.

I love the Affleck casting despite what the Trolls say – he's got more sophistication to play Bruce Wayne than Bale or Kilmer had, and more ruggedness to play Batman than Keaton or Clooney (especially) had – like the ideal blend of the 4 previous' strong suits – Adam West is a whole other genre of Batman to me 😉

The 2 hour podcast flew by! You guys gotta stop being so dang entertaining, so I don't miss it as much in between shows ;-D

not picking on anyone, but just cause the killing thing seems to come up nearly every episode

Haha! Thanks for the link! 🙂 My argument against that is always "Just because the comics DID do it doesn't mean they were right, either." 😉 I just prefer my heroes not to kill. I'm the same with He-Man. If He-Man ever killed ANYONE (say, if the new movie gets made), I'd have a serious issue with it. That's just my personal opinion, though.

With movies like Man of Steel, though, I have way more of an issue with the massive destruction than with him killing Zod, I think. They leveled that city, likely killing a large chunk of the population. And the biggest downer is that it wasn't even addressed or mentioned. I sort of hope it's a plot point of the next film. I feel like there should be some sort of regret from Superman. I'd love to see Lex show up and use that as his rise to power, claiming that Superman is a danger to the world becuase of how many people he killed. That would make the whole thing a bit better, in my eyes. 🙂

Not sure which of you brought this up, but Lynda Carter WAS the quintessential WW, which made me think of an actress I'd like in the role even more than the 3 I suggested in my first comment – CATHERINE BELL from "JAG" & "The Good Witch" movies. I know that she's a little 'long-in-the-tooth', but who says WW has to be played by a 28 year old actress? Helen Mirren is in her 60s and was in the "Red" movies ;-). Can't wait to hear what you guys talk about next!

    Thanks for the New Episode!

  • Johan_Eggink says:

Are you skipping the 30th Dec for an episode?

    • Pixel Dan says:

I think we're going to have to, unfortunately. Jon and I have been unable to make our schedules work for a new recording due to the chaos of the holidays. We're going to get one pumped out as quick as possible in January, though!

  • Johan_Eggink says:

No worries. Then I can stop refreshing Pixel-dan.com every 10 secs like Matty in 2011.

Have a great New years eve!

    Johan
