Not as bad as I thought it would be. He looks good when in with the new adventures line of characters.

  • I don't hate this figure like some do. I don't love it, either, but he's fine. I like superheroes, and I find the whole "doesn't fit in with MOTU" argument lame. EVERYTHING fits with MOTU. Personally, I prefer the sword and sorcery type characters the best, but you can't forget that MOTU also includes a guy with a robotic elephant head, A flying blue smurf, and a skunk man. I mean, come on.

I'm subbed for the 30th figures, so I'll be getting my Spector soon. I'm sure that I'll customize him somewhat, as some of the details are odd to me (mainly the harness), but I appreciate the figure for what it it, and more importantly, I appreciate what Scott has done for this line including getting it going, and giving us a ton of cool toys. If the price of MOTUC is The Mighty Spector, then it's a price I'll gladly pay. And he's not that bad, anyway.

I actually like this character's design. I probably won't be getting him since the original characters are a higher priority for me, and I can't afford them all. That being said, many people seem to be comparing him to a superhero, but the Phantom has never once come up! …a superhero wearing a purple jumpsuit and using guns? You can't get any closer than that! lol

    • The Rook says:

Lord of the jungle, the hero who stalks
The beasts call him brother, the ghost that walks
      Phantom!
      Defenders of the Earth!!!

Hm… Mighty Spector aka Lt. Spector…
1.) an april joke becomes real…
2.) wrong Toyline… DC Universe Deathstroke?
    3.) I save money, YAY^^

Not sure why the caps are happening…sorry.

For all those here who think the "concept" behind this figure but disaprove of the final design. A redesign thread has been started here to showcase off possible "repaired" desings for this figure.

I liked the wip. Wish they coulda included that.

  • @srattigan says:

I'm in this for the long haul so Spector doesn't particularly bother me, I like the way this figure has turned out overall.

  • @FakeEyes22 says:

These last 2 MOTUC reviews aren't playing here on this site for me. It may just be me, but that's just a head's up in case it's not. Working perfectly on Youtube and the reviews are great! Well, Slush Head's was. I'm starting Spector's now. Who know's what mysteries await!?

    • Pixel Dan says:

Strange. Theya re working for me right now. They are just the YouTube embeds, so maybe there was a problem on YT's end? Not sure…

Let me know if they still don't work. Maybe I'll try switchign out the Youtube embeds and go back to the Blip embeds.

      • I'm able to watch them here just fine.

      • clark says:

I have been having the same issue for the last couple of days. It's really weird because all I have to do is go to youtube and can watch them no problem, and other sites that have youtube videos embedded have not given me the same trouble.

  • Binks says:

The review didnt play for me either…

  • Faker says:

I'm going to add Spector (Mighty? Yeah, right) to the ranks of my "Keldor and the Clan of Mutants" faction. He doesn't look like a good guy, look and color wise. I'm ignoring his time traveler gimick too coz I think this time travel bid was added in an effort to trump the big whigs of MOTU, even He-Man, which… for such an F-List figure is not even close to being worthy.
Staying in MOTU realm, he kinda resembles that purple dude He-Man fought in a mini-comic.

What? No love for em? Let's just say, he sure aint no Draego-Man 😉

  • Tmc1984 says:

I think this is a pretty unimpressive figure in truth, regardless of its origins and design concept …

there’s Nothing on this figure that remotely makes me want to own one, he just looks so non-MOTU to me … the cosmic key accessory is cool though in truth …

and I guess he comes with a neat lightsabre too 😉 …

  • The Rook says:

For me, time travel can only be accomplished by doing 88 mph in a DeLorean. Another good video review!!!

  • He_Maniac says:

I'm okay with this figure. The yellow armor with the spade on it kinda irritates me for some reason. They better not reveal he's an African-American character under that mask, cuz someone will be in big trouble.
I would display him without the armor, but I like the holster. I guess I'll have to learn to like it.
    Thanks for the review P-Dan!

    • Pixel Dan says:

We already know he looks like ToyGuru under the mask, so no worries there. He's the same character as the Palace Guard named Lt. Spector.

  • Lex says:

I read the youTube comments and I gotta say, there are a lot of people that really need to take a chill pill and be less childish about this figure. At the end of the day if you don't like him you don't have to be rude about him ya know? I admit I am only really buying the guy because I feel sorry for Scott and because the character is so talked about. I would have probably passed on him otherwise.

    • Pixel Dan says:

I knew the YouTube comments were going to be harsh. The video is also getting a bunch of "thumbs downs" just based on it being a video about Spector. But, honestly, that's the kind of thing you have to expect from YouTube. People always get real nasty there.

      • Lex says:

Well your review was as good as ever Dan. I left a stroppy comment calling out people being childish on your youtube version haha. Couldn't help myself. I go by the name jeevesosiris on there.

    • joe says:

I picked this one up based off what i saw in the video here and the pics on the Fwoosh. I was one of the people who felt like the character didn't really fit at first but after some thought I've changed my mind. What they should do is make an unmasked head in Toyguru's likeness but all scarred like Deadpool to symbolize the years of weirdly personal attacks and abuse the dude seems to get.

  • PAT says:

I think I like Sir Laser lot better…

    • Pixel Dan says:

I reallik like the idea of a Knight character like Laser-Lot. I just don't like his bright blue and red color scheme. I wish it was more silver or something. More knight-like. Also, I really wish he came with a laser lance as a weapon. That would have been awesome. 🙂 Just my opinion, of course!

    • clark says:

I am pretty excited about adding Sir Laser Lot to my collection. he kind of makes me wished I had an army of Robotos to lead into battle.

He did not thrill me when I first saw him, Although I thought he looked very much like a figure that could have been from the 80s toyline, and always wished there were some knights in MOTU.

He has grown on me quite a bit since his reveal. So far, all that's left for me in 2012 is Horde Prime, Laser Lot, and the Snakemen.
