Hasbro announces SDCC Exclusive Star Wars Angry Birds Set

The Hasbro SDCC exclusives are being revealed slowly but surely. Collectors have been waiting with baited breathe to find out what items they’ll have to wait in absurdly long lines for a chance to maybe buy. So far, we’ve only seen the Star Wars Black Series Boba Fett. But Hasbro has finally unveiled another exclusive, also under the Star Wars theme. Thanks to io9.com, we get a look at the new Star Wars Angry Birds Special Action Figure Set.

Well….idunno what to say about this one. I mean, I don’t mind the Angry Birds games. I thought the Star Wars one was fun, though the novelty has certainly worn off by now. I didn’t mind the Angry Birds Star Wars toys too much. I get the marketing appeal. Angry Birds is hot, and Star Wars wants to stay hot. I thought the little blind bag figures were fun, though only picked up a couple and never planned to nor had the desire to “collect them all.” Now we’re being given an exclusive version of these same figures at SDCC. Carding them like vintage Star Wars figures is kind of neat, but let’s be honest…that’s sort of been done to death by this point, hasn’t it? This set is definitely not for me. I’ll pass on picking this one up.
