Great review! Probably my favorite. I am biased tho as this was my #1 favorite figure in the line. I actually received a factory sample of this guy and noticed a few revisions which work well. MY sample must have been an early piece. Can’t wait to get this guy and will probably get several just in case. I know my first one will get really worn out.

    • Pixel Dan says:

What revisions were made, if you don't mind me asking. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Mindless-Focus says:

How the armor connects is the most noticeable. I’ll get pics if you want. With yours, it looks as if the tubes that go around the abs and connect to the back armor via a peg that is sitting on its own little base. Mine doesn’t have that peg on the under part of the armor. That area isn’t even part of the mold. The tube goes around and connects to each other via hole and plug and is just kinds look back there.

The tentacles is the other revision. the material on mine are very rigid. The connection and joint on the armor is very different. It’s a key connection. As if there was originally a right and left for them. Instead of a plug, the holes on the back are flat slots and the tabs on the tentacles are flat and “key-like.” I can switch them, but you can tell there was originally a left and right fixed place for them.

The head is the last part. I’m unsure if this is just a rough fit or because it’s a sample, wasn’t given the proper treatment or if they were using this one to test things out. The clear dome and inner tabs on mine aren’t glued to the armor. There are holes on the inside of the armor and tabs on the two long pieces that fit to the front and back of the inside of the armor. It’s as if you originally slid the dome in place (it is formed to fit the body, then pulled the armor over and snapped it in place. I see cracks around the pegs already from this so I epoxied mine in permanently. It looks like they also used this piece to test the fit of the head in the dome as the dome on mine is much tighter to the head then yours looked. They actually had to cut off several of the high points to get it to fit. Even after those cut, it’s still tight as the flats are pressing against the dome.

Those are all the highlights tho. This looks as if it may have been the first (or near it) assembled Slushy. I can tell the engineers used thIs one to gage the fit and design of the figure. Also, the all caps of this messaging system is making my iPhone freak out in amusing ways.

Amazing! IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TOPPED OFF AS THE BEST REVIEW HAD THE PICTURE OF MOSQUITOR BEEN THE FULL REVEAL OF THE UP AND COMING CLASSICS ONE!

    • Pixel Dan says:

Oh man…if I had that picture and the ok from MAttel, I totally would have done that. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • TMC1984 says:

awesome review and to be honest awesome figure … i don't collect or like NA so won't be buying, but i appreciate that this is a cool figure … the water-feature is awesome …

  • PAT says:

The end made me laugh !

Awesome review, as usual. I not gonna fill the head tank so I'm glad you did it. Thanks !

    • Pixel Dan says:

You're not going to fill it even once? Dude, you HAVE to! The water feature is the best part! ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • PAT says:

No I'm not… I understand it's fun but I'm afraid it gonna damage the figurine or mold and finally look like one of my trashies lol

  • I don't really have any interest in NA, but this looks like a pretty cool and unique figure.

  • Man-E-Fan1977 says:

Based off the gimick I'm tempted to keep this one. Even though what little knowledge I have about the New Adventures of He-Man comes from you, Dan.

  • I was goona not collect new adventures intill I saw this review. Man, does that action feature bring you back or what? Great review Dan!

  • Ron says:

Figures like THIS is why I really love Motu Classics Toys! Never thought that the 4 horsemen do such a good job with the NA toys. Slush Head looks great!

  • Faker says:

Slush head figure is looking good!

  • @srattigan says:

Buying two of Slush Head, one for me and one for my son. Best part is he doesn't even know about the water feature so I can't wait for him to have that experience for the first time. I never had any of the New Adventures figures growing up, but they have now become some of my favorites in the series.

  • The Rook says:

I recently watched all the episodes of The New Adventures of He-Man on DVD and it was pretty tough to watch. I'd take Orko over those scientists any day. I'd rather have Snarf than the scientists. I think I'd rather have Scott and T-Bob from M.A.S.K. than those stupid scientists!!! Anyway, so far the New Adventures figures from MOTUC have been awesome!!! Can't wait fro New Adventures version of He-Man and Skeletor!!!

    • Pixel Dan says:

Ooh, yeah. That show is rough! lol! I really do like the NA toyline, though. I also like the Mini Comic story quite a bit.

After Slush Head here, I'm really excited for more NA characters in MOTUC. I can't wait for Flogg, NA Skeletor, NA He-Man, Hydron, and Sagitar! ๐Ÿ˜€

      • The Rook says:

I own all 49 of the original MOTU mini-comics but do not have any from New Adventures. I've looked into picking those up on eBay but last time I checked they were pricey.

How do you think they will handle Sagitar if they ever get to him? I'm guessing he will be as one of the beasts/oversized figures.

  • He_Maniac says:

Never was a fan of the NA line, but I think the Horsemen have done a great job with these figures. I'm glad to add them to the other line of MOTU characters.

  • Miss M says:

Love this review! Great as always. the water feature is really cool and i am glad the tentacles were molded. bendable pieces can get out of wack, not to mention their aging process can be a real pain. keep up the great work!

    • Pixel Dan says:

Thanks! Yeah, I agree with you. I'm glad they went the route they did with the tentacles. They work out just fine this way!

  • Lex says:

Great review, I must say I really love this figure. I had all the mutants back in the day and Slushead was possibly my second favourite behind Staghorn. I loved Staghorn… mainly because he looks so old and grumpy, like a real miserable Hardcore Holly esque bully. Really cannot wait for him to get the Classic treatment.

    • Pixel Dan says:

Oh yeah, Staghorn is one ugly dude! lol! I just bought that figure last year. He'll make a really interesting figure in MOTUC!

  • PrfktTear says:

Another fine review dan! I don't know that i will leave my slushie head filled with water permanently, but when i do fill it i believe i will use distilled water. i don't know if it will make a huge difference but i might feel better.

collectors might be wise to change out the water every so often as well so it doesn't get stagnant and start to grow any bacteria or something.

  • Faker says:

Slush's tentacles don't stay in the peg holes. Is there a particular way to plug em in?
