Flashback Friday: 1991 Toy Biz Uncanny X-Men Toy Line Review
Friday, June 22nd, 2012 by Pixel Dan
Welcome to Flashback Friday, the newest feature of Pixel-Dan.com!
Flashback Friday is a chance for me to share some of my past videos with everyone again. This will allow newer viewers to see a video they might not have yet seen, and allow the long-time viewers a trip down memory lane! It also serves to show just how much my videos have evolved over the years. Warning: the quality will not always be very good in these older videos!
Today’s flashback is an overview I did on the 1991 Uncanny X-Men toy line from Toy Biz! The video features an in-depth look at many of the first wave figures, playsets, and vehicles in what became a major toy line of the 1990’s!
Original air date of this video was November 28, 2009.
Enjoy this blast from the past! And stay tuned, as more Flashbacks are on the way!
Flashback Friday is definitely a fun idea. I've always thought it was interesting to see earlier work from people whose videos I watch on a regular basis. I particularly enjoyed this one since I actually had all of these figures, and like you said in the video, it was these figures (and most all of Toy Biz's old Marvel figures) that got me interested in reading comics. Seeing these figures again was a nice blast from the past.
Dan I'm a little sad to see that you don't have the Storm figure. She was my first X-Men figure and the only one I owned from this wave.
great to see these old figures Dan! this and the Marvel super heros line from toybiz really got me into the comics and characters. the super heros were my favourites with doc ock and his suction cups, the punisher with his caps and being excited at seeing venom and green goblin for the first time! these along with the secret wars figures really did make me love action figures and i still try to pick up as many as i can these days!!
Thanks for the memories, keep up the good work!!!
Great video Dan! I had all the figures from the first wave when I was a kid. I still have Magneto and Wolverine.
This reminds me of how much I miss That New Toy Smell. 🙁
Very cool. I had a few of these as a kid and wolverine's Danger Room.
the all too part in my wrestling league as a kid (The Danger Room was Piper's Pit)
Great memories! Thanks 😀
AWESOME video, Dan! I've been watching you for three years now and this may be my favorite. Wolverine was the first X-MEN figure I ever had, and the sculpt always reminded me of Kramer.
I always thought he looked like Ronald Reagan, lol.
I had a lot, if not all, of these as a kid.
Awesome flashback, Dan!
AHHHHH….MEMORIES…
Great idea! KeeP’em coming!
neat! … total TNTS flashback! 🙂
