For me personally 2013 is the strongest year presented thus far. I understand that not everyone is of the " all in " mentality that I am, still MOTUC offers the greatest opportunity to date for every kind of Masters collector. The fact that this line may already be in jeopardy at such a high point breaks my collector's heart. This line deserves greater support from Mattel ( time to update to the 21st Century and bid farewell to a one size fits all business model ), and from the fan base. 2012 with it's drama inducing Star Sisters sells way better thus far than 2013 that includes Ram Man and Filmation based designs, really? Really?
First off, Dan, love the site great work. These pics are fantastic, I've got to come up with a way to get a 2013 sub. I read your article about the line being in trouble and this line caught my attention " ToyGuru has 2013 mapped out. Legal wont let him announce all of the figures. He would if he could. 2014 promises to complete the vintage MOTU figures and core PoP and NA. Its already figured out. Does NOT mean 2014 is def the end though." WOW, really, this is were everybody wants to back out and be pissed off with Mattel. The man just put his cards on the table and is letting us know that most of us, if not all, are going to get what we've been asking for, at least the He-man fans anyway, sorry POP and NA fans I hope you get most of the stuff you want. You guys have been getting the short end of the stick.
Don’t be mad at Mattel about the legal issues. Be mad at the morons who will sue for just about anything. I do think they should have built a subscription around what they could announce in advance. I can’t pretend to understand the logistics that it takes to make it work, but I think that at the least a half year sub should have been on the table since day one.
Kinds on the same wagon when it comes to the He-Man figures versus POP and NA. Other than Horde members I could care less about the POP figures. Not a fan of NA either. I don’t hate them they just aren’t high on my list of wants.
I just signed up for a subscription. Hopefully, the line will move forward.
I was super excited after Mattel’s SDCC 2012 panel. I really liked the line-up. Last year was a real up and down year as far as figures for MOTU Classics. I loved some figures and other ones, not so much. This year was better with Fisto, one my favorites, being released. The final figures of 2012 capping off the rest of the year nicely. When the 2013 figures were announced I knew I had to commit to the sub again. I even doubled my order this year.
I’m really sad reading all the posts bashing MOTU Classics. I understand all the anger over QC and Digital River issues, but it still is a fantastic line. What is really sad is a lot of the bashers will continue to collect even though they tried to destroy the MOTU classics. I think the mentality now is if I can’t afford it any more I’ll make sure I don’t miss out and help end the line by discouraging others. Sad. 🙁
I really hope we can save MOTU Classics!
Ram Man and Granamyr look incredible. Alas, not a whole lot else I'm interested in.
Hey Dan,
I was curious if asked Toy Guru what Strobo's chest would look like on the final figure. Thanks!
Yep! He said it would be a reflective "mirror" sticker. 🙂
Hey Dan, I was just curious if Toy Guru mentioned what Stobo's chest would look like in the end… Thanks, man!
Man that RamMan looks too damn good not to be made 🙁
NO Mantenna coming out?
He was a funny villian.
Excellent pics… excellent figures.
Hope we get these
What secret figure are the round stickers covering on Cy-Chop's bio picture?
