Like retro fantasy figures? Then these might be right up your alley! Join me for a look at indy toy line Realm of the Underworld from Zoloworld! I take a look at all four figures from series 1, including Hercules, Acromancer, and the Archfiend Skeletons!
I am really enjoying my set, I even ordered an extra of each type skeleton. I have a feeling these will get better and better
The figures are awesome! I've seen comments on other sites bashing these and being too expensive and cheap, I LOVE THEM!!! Its seems that if all things go well there may even be a playset, which might incorporate slime, to display your figures with!!! The second wave should be available for pre-order soon, according to a recent email from Zoloworld.
yeah there are a lot of great indy art 5.5" figures, but the costs are $50-$100 and I just cant afford that. And for their first round of these I think its great
So these sculpts are just borrowed from Remco? I was just looking at the old Conan Remco line and saw the Acromancer (who was The Jewel Thief) and Hercules's shorts and so forth. I believe the entire line is just barrowed parts frmo vintage Remco figures. I am supposing Zoloworld attained the rights to reusing the old sculpts. Dan, do you know any of this interesting back story?

I highly doubt they got any rights. These are "Art Toys".
So, Hercules is black now? Hmmm, no thank you!
ah mah gawd, everyone is doing retro action figures. Cant we get alien and weird designs like zoids or bug shaped alien? hell, glyos is pretty original and inspired those blocky swapable robo dudes
I don't think Hercules is black here but more Mediterranean. His head sculpt is taken from the Remco figure "Nord the Barbarian"!
BLACK
I'm slowing down on collecting somewhat, but in my heyday, I would have bought every single one of these. They look awesome!
ART TOYS!!
"fit your budget" ?? They're $29.99 each!
They are $23 each and yes compared to those other art toy 5.5" fantasy figures, which cost $50-$100 and are not always easy to get and come poly bagged.
The ones I saw on eBay were at $29.99. So $23 – $50 – $100 for basically a boot let… have fun.
There was no mention in the video about the figures having interchangeable arms, legs, and heads. The upcoming "battle pack" is suppose to have additional arms and legs to customize figures with.
I bought a set of these since I''ve always loved this size/style of toy. They're not bad for what they are. I'm not a huge fan of the underlying story, the dull colors, or the overuse of skeletons though(I think Warlords & Warriors looked more to my liking before Zoloworld had a falling out with that line's creators & rebranded it ROTU).
One thing I recently found out that really surprised me is that practically every piece of the line is not n homage but a double of those from some other line(most of them Remco's MOTU-like toys). How is that legal? Are they really art toys when they are being released on cardbacks as well as with their own mythology? Wouldn't I be sued by Mattel if I started selling vintage MOTU toys rebranded with new names & storyline?
