Meh…a hover board that doesn't …hover. I'll wait for the 2015 version!! :^) How much does it cost?
Never mind …I went to the website, $130.
a hover board that doesn't hover? how come?
To me this is a toy, not a replica. Mattel needs to stick with making toys and stop trying to be a replica manufacturer. To a general fan, this board will work. A replica buyer does not want cheesy electronic sounds and cheap paper stickers and other design flaws. They could have ditched the electronics, and made a more accurate board with correct holo stickers. I think that's why Mattel angered so many people, if they had marketed it as a toy instead of replica, it would have saved them a lot negative feedback. They got people's hopes up only to end up with what is a toy. Diamond Select makes Star Trek phasers, etc. they don't market them as replicas.
Your statement about Diamond Select is a very good point.
Whoa…language man. I understand your frustration, but this is a family-friendly site. Please watch the language. Thanks! 🙂
Who, calm down man. I was asking nicely. I'm not booting anyone.
It's worth noting that this Hoverboard is supposed to include a clear display stand, which is packaged with the instruction manual. I confirmed this with Mattel. For whatever reason, mine was completely missing botht he instructions and the stand.
Hi Dan! Mine just got here. The stand doesn't actually function. It plugs in to the bottom of the board, but all of the guts (and weight) are on the back of the board. If you place the board on the stand, the stand just falls over.
Scratch that. I'm a moron. The stand was folded backward.
(Feel free to delete these.)
Glad to hear that it does work! 🙂

Using a hair dryer and warming up the glue definitely helped when opening the box to prevent ripping the flap. I was hoping it would work when trying it
…and after 2 or 3 minutes was able to separate the flaps using a long sharp knife with hardly any tearing, definitely none that you can see from outside of the box.
