Power-Con promo and 2012 recap! See why you need to attend THIS year!
Check out the Power-Con video promo and recap for 2012 by Daniel Benedict! See some of what you missed and find out why Power-Con should be one of your 2013 destinations. Enjoy a taste of what Power-Con delivers for He-Man, She-Ra and ThunderCats and get an idea of what to expect for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when it gets the Power-Con treatment at this year’s event!
Power-Con Returns in 2013!
After two successful years, the POWER-CON will return September 14th and 15th, 2013 to the Torrance Marriott South Bay, in Torrance, California. Not only will Power-Con still encompass the worlds of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, and the ThunderCats, but it will now be raising some shell by including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the celebration!
The lean, mean, and green fighting machines will receive the same attention and love He-Man, She-Ra, and the ThunderCats have received during Power-Con’s first two outings. As the fans who have attended previously will attest, this is a convention that caters directly to the fans by bringing in the top talent involved with the properties you love, extensive programming and panels during the entire weekend, vendors that have the collector in mind, and even an opportunity to dine with the creators and thespians who helped bring these beloved properties to life.
Hotel reservation information is coming soon which will include a discounted room rate for Power-Con attendees. Make sure to keep an eye out for this announcement as our hotel block sold out quickly last year before the show. With the inclusion of the Turtles, we expect an even faster sell-out.
Guest announcements and programming details will be continuously released throughout the upcoming year. Please bookmark our official convention website at: http://www.thepower-con.com/ , friend us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ThePowerCon, and follow us on Twitter @ThePowerCon.
We look forward to seeing all the fans help bring the power, honor, thunder, and cowabunga to 2013 this September!

Bandai ThunderCats Modern 6″ Tygra Figure Review
What’s going on with Bandai’s ThunderCats toyline right now? We’re unsure. But we do know that with the figures hitting clearance shelves at many stores, one of the hardest figures to find is the 6″ scale modern Tygra figure!
Is he an improvement over previous figures? Join me for a look at this hard to find figure in Bandai’s ThunderCats line. Video after the jump!
What does the future hold for ThunderCats?
Update: Well, the plot thickens. ToyNewsI.com has just put up an article stating that they contacted Bandai asking about the rumors surrounding the demise of the line. Bandai states that they are still the master toy license holders for ThunderCats, and that they are currently focussing on rolling out product outside of the US.
That’s not a terrible amount of info, but at least we know Bandai hasn’t lost the license…yet. I’m still very interested to see how this all plays out, as I still find it highly unusual that Bandai hasn’t released or even shown us any new ThunderCats product since late last year.
Original Post: The future of the ThunderCats has been a hot topic as of late, and it seems to be really heating up.
The general consensus about the Bandai toy line has been that it’s in trouble. Ever since Toy Fair in February, where Bandai didn’t show off anything new for the brand, most collectors got the impression that the toy line was coming to an end.
