Is it just me or does Mattel seem to really be knocking it out of the park this year with packaging for the SDCC toys? It seems like the more of the Mattel exclusives that you review for this year, I come away from these videos being just as impressed with the packaging as I am the figures inside, if not moreso.
I wish I could say I was more interested in this statue, because it looks like it would make a really nice display piece (despite the really unnecessary articulation), but having never read the Death comic, I have very little knowledge of, or ties to, the character. While I know this item is likely just a one-off for SDCC, this does sort of make me wish that Mattel would attempt a line of DCU statues like this that could be marketed more to major retail outlets such as Target, Toys R Us, etc. and sold at a reasonable price. Owning my fair share of statues, busts and other high-end collectables, I'd just be curious to see something like that happen.
Anyway. Great video, as always. These SDCC videos are helping me figure out what I actually want to try and grab on MattyCollector when they do the post-SDCC sale.
I really need to save up so I can get her on matty along with the WWE figures I'm behind on
I think she looks great. I really hope we get Morpheus in the future too. I never keep figures in box, but with the Jill Thompson art work, I may have to this time.
